Road Trip 5: In Which I Get Kippered

All Scottish dragons slain, set off back home, via Angel of the North.

Veered off direct route to visit Whitby, stayed in an old kippering house next to Fortunes. I still appear to be quite yellow, also noticing that friends giving me a little more space than usual.

  1. Much as I love a good kipper, I do hope the "whiff" has gone by May!

  2. Q: Do you like kippering?

    A: I don't know. I've never kippered!

  4. If you'd stayed a little longer you might have turned golden. Much more flattering than yellow

  5. Enjoy the Kipper Surprise.

By the way, this is the second time this week I’ve seen a reference (remember I’m in Canada) to the Angel of the North. Is this an omen?

  6. Hey Dear - I got a little tingle at the mention of Whitby and its kippers - what I imagined to be the smell of them - as I incorporated them in a very small way in that book I persist in mentioning. I sent a draft manuscript across the pond with my Oxford friends a week or two ago for their review and comment. I may ask them to forward it on to you after they have had at it... (the silence has been deafening - they may not have survived the ordeal. If it's too awful you'll be reprieved). I always love to know what you are doing. God Bless.

MJ - Thanks for the kippers and the advice on how to do the notification business - you are a true font of wisdom and good taste.

Those visions of our Northern Angel means that you have to come to the UK and be hailed as the new queen of Gateshead.

KSV Woolfoot - thank you honey, I look forward to it xx

  13. You can't beat the smell of a good kipper, Lools! One of the reasons why I love living over here in Transylvania - eating raw onion, raw garlic, etc is considered not only healthy but also a realistic alternative to buying expensive cologne.

  14. Eryl, don't they have kippers with porridge round your way?

Gadjo - and it prevents biting from all know biters!
