I visit a supermarket that is also used by students, their conversations are such good value that I have been known to spend more time than strictly necessary hanging around near the Pot Noodles.
Today's gem:
Skinny boy, looking anxious:
I've got ham, how long does ham keep for?
Girl:
It depends on how cold your fridge is
Skinny Boy with incipient fridge insecurity:
Err quite cold ... I think
Girl:
You can definitely keep ham for at least a day - two if your fridge is really cold

ReplyDeletethe supermarket is a veritable fount of bloggable ideas, sugar! xoxoxox
I'd have the opposite problem and ask if after six months or so if I should finally throw it out.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard students referred to as Pot Noodles before. I guess the ones that hang out in billiard halls are called Pool Noodles?
ReplyDeleteNow, for those two students I *would* be inclined to charge them hefty fees!
ReplyDeleteI really like to eavesdrop...you hear snippets that are truly funny.
ReplyDeleteBless.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Eryl. Bless 'em....
ReplyDeleteAs a rule, I throw away everything I own after two days. My life is fresh!
